21 Children Dead In School Shooting.The 2nd Amendment has got to go

 

It is with a very heavy heart and a gnawing sense of anger that I report the tragedy of 21 children and 2 adults have been massacred in a school shooting Uvalde, Texas. Apparently a deranged 18-year-old walked into the school indiscriminately shooting students between the ages of 6 and 9 years old. Police, including Border Patrol units nearby killed the shooter as he barricaded himself in a room. Apparently, the suspect shot and critically wounded his grandmother before going on the rampage.

Reactions has been swift with people all over the world sending condolence's and the ever present "sending thoughts and prays" which after so many past school massacres ring hollow as the inevitable government response that "something has got to be done". Nothing ever is. 

And every year or so the same damn thing happens and the same damn bullshit rides again and again nothing is done.

Already there are clashes on such platforms such as Twitter with outraged citizenry demanding change in gun control laws and the 2nd amendment die-hards circling wagons, armed with their prewritten, pre-rehearsed lines about inalienable rights again blaming everyone but the gunmaker, seller and buyers for yet another catastrophe

The same BS from the Guardians of the Constitution:

-The Founders Created the 2nd Amendment with the God-given right to carry arms 

-That the 2nd Amendment, says a well-armed militia and the right to bear arm, it's hard to imagine the Founding Father's having no problem with a band of lunatics tottering around guns that could fire thirty rounds in seconds with extended clips and lasers that were sold at stores like cans of tuna fish

-The other justification for these wing nuts is that they need these guns to keep the government in check in case they tried to do nefarious things to the population. What they seem not to realize is that an advanced army is just that: An advanced army. You'll be sitting there in your lawn chair with your trusty AR15 laying across your lap and a beer in your hand while a drone 30 miles away will so quickly pick off all they'll be able to say is "I was standing sitting there 1 second and now I'm here. What happened God? "

My suggestions:

Meaningful gun control must be begun immediately. I'm not so sure but I do believe Joe Bidan can call an executive decision that will halt all new firearms from being manufactured in the nation

That we seriously think about seizing all these terrible, annihilating weapons of destruction (when 21 little children are killed with such ease saying WMDs is not hyperbole

People talk about how guns don't kill people, but people kill people. Good. so, leave the guns and take the people

Those that say " They will take my gun out of my cold dead hands" should be made to put up or shut up

I would like to see millions and millions of concerned Americans take to the streets and demand that something is done instead of salving their consciences with "thoughts and prayers" but adding action.

Events like this are not disasters but abominations which have no place in such an incredible country
