Sadly it is reported that several people celebrating a Hanukkah party New York were stabbed after some lunatic knife wielding stormed the party and began stabbing people. The attack occurred at the home of Rabbi Chaim Rottenberg in Monsey, New York which has a large population of ultra Orthodox Jews. Reports at this time are that 5 people were stabbed, two critically. The perpetrator escaped and is still at large. This follows closely on the heels of a deadly attack on Jews in Brooklyn, New York by two disciples of the Black Hebrew Israelites, who believe that they constitute true 12 tribes of Israel and were usurped by the Jews ( I remember them from working as a medic in Harlem. So many fathers grieve after their children grow or are gone that they didn't spend enough time with their children. But how many times were you with your child but weren't there? What started as a protest against increased petrol prices has spiraled into the greatest existential threat to the Iranian regime in 4 decades. I haven't slept in two days agonizing over what happened to my former friend. I didn't want to write this post feeling I didn't want to seem to profit in any way off this tragedy.
